Q&A

  • When should I plan to arrive in Da Nang?

We will be arriving in Da Nang on March 18th and will stay until March 23rd, but you can stay for as little or as long as you like. The wedding is on March 21st 🙂

  • How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

Similar to Uber, you can use the Grab app in Vietnam to call a car on-demand from anywhere including the airport.

You can also prebook your airport pickup through the hotel reservations team at reservations@namanretreat.com.

  • Where should I stay?

We recommend that you stay at either a hotel or Airbnb somewhere within Da Nang or Hoi An. We have a discounted hotel block at the Naman Retreat — where the wedding will be taking place — but there will be pre- and post- wedding activities all over the towns!

  • Can I make changes to my hotel booking?

If you’ve already made a hotel reservation at the Naman Retreat but your plans have changed, you have up to 14 days before your check-in date to cancel or update. Just contact the reservations team at reservations@namanretreat.com.

Given the time difference between here and Vietnam, I would count another day buffer (15 days total) just to be safe.

  • If I am staying offsite, how do I get to the wedding and any other functions?

If you aren’t staying with us at the Naman Retreat, please let us know so that we can make arrangements for transportation.

If you’d prefer to do it on your own, you can install the Grab app, which is Vietnam’s equivalent to Uber (and it’s the best)

  • What if I still don't have my visa?

Please see here for our instructions for obtaining a visa for entry into Vietnam!

If, for whatever reason, your flight is less than a week away and you still don’t have a visa — we have a contact that can issue last-minute visas for a nominal fee. Just note that visa issuance is subject to government office hours, so weekend inquiries will be addressed on Mondays.

  • Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Only the reception will be indoors, while the ceremony and afterparty will be outdoors. (The pre-wedding events will also be outdoors.)

  • Will the kitchen be able to accommodate my dietary restrictions?

Yes! Please let us know ASAP so we can plan accordingly.

  • Are children allowed at the wedding?

It’s not a Long Chen wedding without cute babies! However, if you would like a break from your kids, there is a 24-hour kids club onsite.

  • What is the dress code for the wedding?

Attire is beach formal — suits in lighter hues and lots of color and patterns for all!

A brief Packing and Technology Guide our cousin made, which we are repurposing 🤗

  • What should I do there?

We’d love everyone to find and discover new places for themselves, but here’s a Google Maps highlights, including wedding event venues, from when we went in November!
